Plan a Safe Stampede Party in 2021

Yeehaw, Calgary!

With the major inroads in the fight against COVID and our government’s recent remarks that the Calgary Stampede is looking good for this year, it’s time to start considering how you can hold a safe Stampede event in 2021. Here are some ways you can do this for your corporate or private Stampede party.

Set the Scene

A western themed party isn’t a party without some great western décor. You can start with the standard fare of hay bales and split rail fencing to define your area. Add in an eye-catching entrance with a western arch or swinging saloon doors.

Add in a variety of seating options that include barrel tables and stools, long stand-up cocktail tables that make you think you’re moseying on up to a bar, shorter seated tables with chairs for folks who want to hang out a while and even hay bale seating mixed with lounge furniture for a slightly more upscale seating lounge.

Don’t stop there. Make it your own by including your company colours. Create a catchy western name for your “saloon”. Add some unexpected western décor by combining different colour themes; western display elements or even unusual textures.

Create a floorplan that allows for more space between guests while still making the overall feel cozy. We create customized themes and would love to brainstorm with you.

Enjoy the Outside

Create an outdoor area to ensure your Stampede party can proceed with the least restrictions. If you want to avoid the infamous Stampede afternoon squalls, book a tent well in advance to make sure you have a great contingency plan in place. They can even be set up in parking lots with minimal issues.

VIP Treatment

Making your guests feel special can be a simple task when it’s part of your plan from the outset. Perhaps you have a greeter who warmly welcomes your guest into your space and offers them a beverage to avoid line ups at the bar or beverage stations.

Food options from food trucks to served bbq fare served from a specialized bbq trailer can make sure that people are comfortable without standing in long lines. Add additional serving staff to make this happen seamlessly. You can even add in a chef who talks about grilling techniques as a sort of stage show with servers delivering the goods to your guest’s tables.

Consider your entertainment. Are your guests catching up with folks they haven’t seen for a while – maybe roving entertainment can be included so there’s minimal interruption. Or if your guests want to kick up their heels, add in a band to suit your goals.
